On Saturday, 16 August 2025, Vidullanka PLC’s 2nd phase of the Horana solar power plant was inaugurated by the Minister of Energy, Hon. Eng. Kumara Jayakkody. The event was also graced by the presence of Parliamentary MP Ms. Oshani Umanga, Eng. Harsha Wickramasinghe (Director General of the SLSEA), Eng. Piyal Hennayake (Deputy Chairman of PUCSL), and Eng. Vajira Priyantha (Deputy General Manager – Energy Purchase from the CEB) and other esteemed representatives of relevant government authorities and the community.

This commissioned plant has a capacity of 2 MW and will add approximately 3.6 GWh of clean energy annually to the national grid. It brings Vidullanka’s portfolio to a capacity of 63 MW and 23 power plants in total.
