Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS)

Vidullanka’s foothold in renewable energy now extends into Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), a segment set to play an increasingly important role in the future of energy infrastructure. The company’s first venture into grid-scale storage began with its Anuradhapura BESS facility, developed in partnership with WindForce PLC under the project company StoreX (Pvt) Ltd and positioned as one of Sri Lanka’s first grid-scale standalone BESS developments. The facility stores surplus daytime solar power for use during peak night-time demand, easing pressure on the national grid during peak evening hours, and supports grid stability as the country increases its renewable energy integration.
