The Kumu mini hydro power project was inaugurated on Friday, 11 July 2025, with the Honourable Brigadier Mark Phillips, Prime Minister of Guyana and Dr. Mahender Sharma, CEO of the Guyana Energy Agency in attendance at the event. Vidullanka PLC, as the EPC contractor to the project, were also represented at the ceremony.
The Kumu project is the second plant delivered as part of Vidullanka PLC’s EPC contract with the Guyana Energy Agency, the first being Moco Moco which was commissioned in December 2024.
