Upul Machanayake joined Vidullanka PLC in 2003 and has since been an integral figure in the operations the company’s plant functions. In his 20 years at Vidullanka, Manchanayake has managed technical requirements while overseeing the coordination of the construction of the company’s power plants. In his capacity as Chief Mechanical Engineer, he overlooks the operations of 11 hydro power plants and 2 solar power plants, both in Sri Lanka and overseas in Uganda.
Manchanyake has received extensive training in his field, qualifying in industrial mechanical engineering and electrical engineering (power) at the Industrial Engineering Training Institute. He is also qualified in hydraulic and pneumatic engineering with the Research and Development Institute of the Road Development Authority.
