The Company’s first project Bambarabatuoya mini-hydro power project is sited in Bambarabatuoya, Ratnapura District.

This project was commissioned and connected to the National Grid in 2001. The company has a 15-year power purchase agreement with the Ceylon Electricity Board and contributes 12.33GWh of electricity to the national grid.

Rideepana MHPP, Sri Lanka

Vidullanka PLC commissioned its 9th mini hydro power plant in Badulla. The Rideepana Mini Hydro Power Project, with the installed capacity of 1.75 MW was connected to the national grid on 15th May 2015. The project annually generates and transmits 5.94 GWh of environmental friendly electricity under the standard power purchasing agreement with the Ceylon Electricity Board.

The Project Company, Rideepana Hydro (Pvt) Ltd is a subsidiary of Vidullanka PLC. The project utilizes the flow of Badulu Oya and annually reduces the country’s carbon emission by 3,700 tonnes.

Vidullanka PLC continues to invest in renewable energy projects, both in Sri Lanka and overseas with the balanced focus on profits, people and the planet.

Lower Kothmale MHPP, Sri Lanka

Vidullanka PLC commissioned its 8th mini hydro power plant in Kotmale, Nuwara-Eliya. The Lower Kotmale Mini Hydro Power Project, with the installed capacity of 4 MW was connected to the national grid on 25th June 2014. The project annually generates and transmits 13.1GWh of environmentally friendly electricity under the standard power purchasing agreement with the Ceylon Electricity Board.

The Project Company, Lower Kotmale Minihydro Pvt Ltd is a joint venture between Vidullanka PLC and the Consortium of Investors led by Jaywise Constructions Ltd. The project utilizes the flow of Kotmale Oya and annually reduces the country’s carbon emission by 8,225 tonnes. Vidullanka PLC continues to venture into the development of small hydro power projects both in Sri Lanka and overseas and have several projects in the pipeline.

Madugeta MHPP, Sri Lanka

Vidullanka PLC commissioned its 7th mini hydro power plant in Neluwa, Galle. The Madugeta Mini Hydro Power Project, with the capacity of 2.5 MW was connected to the national grid on 1st of November, 2013. The project annually generates and transmits 10.2 GWh of environmentally friendly electricity under the standard power purchasing agreement with the Ceylon Electricity Board.

The Project Company, Vidul Madugeta (Pvt) Ltd is a joint venture between Vidullanka PLC and the Esna Power (Pvt) Ltd. The project utilizes the flow of Gingange and annually reduces the country’s carbon emission by 6,400 tonnes. Vidullanka PLC continues to venture into the development of small hydro power projects both in Sri Lanka and overseas and have several projects in the pipeline.

Muvumbe MHPP, Uganda

Muvumbe SHPP is the first overseas project of the company in its journey towards diversification. The power plant is located in the Maziba county in the Kabale district of Uganda. The project is expected to generate and supply 31.42 GWh of environment friendly renewable energy to the national grid of Uganda per annum.

The Muvumbe SHPP is the first project of Vidullanka PLC constructed and managed under the IFC standards and obtained the GETFiT grant administered by kfw bank of Germany for the positive social and ecological impact it has created in the region.

Bukinda MHPP, Uganda

Bukinda Small Hydro Power Project will be Vidullanka PLC’s second overseas project. The project will be of 6.5MW capacity and will be located in Bukinda, Uganda. Furthermore, the project will annually generate and transmit 27.38GWh of environmental friendly electricity under a standard power purchasing agreement with Ugandan regulatory authorities.

The Project Company, Timex Bukinda Hydro (U) Ltd is a subsidiary of Vidullanka PLC. The project will utilise the flow of Nkusi River at Rugashari, Kibaale and annually reduces the carbon emission by 17,000 tons.
