Vidullanka PLC commissioned its 7th mini hydro power plant in Neluwa, Galle. The Madugeta Mini Hydro Power Project, with the capacity of 2.5 MW was connected to the national grid on 1st of November, 2013. The project annually generates and transmits 10.12 GWh of environmentally friendly electricity under the standard power purchasing agreement with the Ceylon Electricity Board.

The Project Company, Vidul Madugeta (Pvt) Ltd is a joint venture between Vidullanka PLC and the Esna Power (Pvt) Ltd. The project utilizes the flow of Gingange and annually reduces the country's carbon emission by 6,400 tonnes. Vidullanka PLC continues to venture into the development of small hydro power projects both in Sri Lanka and overseas and have several projects in the pipeline.
